English for Asia always places the safety of our students as an utmost priority. Please see below for typhoon and rainstorm guidelines, as well as our letter of absence to complete if your child misses a lesson.
EfA implements the directives of the Macao S.A.R. government’s Meteorological Department (SMG) when severe weather signals are in force. We always place the safety of our students as an utmost priority during such periods. Find out more below.
In the event of the hoisting of a severe weather signal, SMG will provide a notice period of 2 hours prior to the hoisting of the signal. During that period no further classes shall start. Classes that have started will continue unless they are not due to finish 30 minutes prior to the hoisting of the signal.
In the event of any unforeseen circumstances leading to EfA being forced to cancel any scheduled lesson, a replacement Lesson Credit Voucher will be provided. However, in the event that a lesson was due to conclude within the aforementioned notice period, no replacement Lesson Credit Voucher will be issued. In the event that a lesson is cancelled with less than 20 minutes of class time remaining, no Lesson Credit Voucher shall be issued.
All classes will resume two hours after the lowering of the respective signal.
Please use our Letter of Absence template if your child was unable to attend a lesson.
